The label is a mandatory addition to the packaging of each product. The whole global manufacturing, supply and usage chain today relies on labels of many different kinds and types for conveying information related to movement, traceability, product safety and health information, size or weight, contents information, ingredients, safety usage, instructions for use, and manufacturer. This information is required by all countries under consumer, sector, product, or environmental legislation. We can also add the globalization of products where one brand is marketed in many countries and a single label becomes the carrier of a design common to those markets where consumers speak and read in different languages. But labels, except being a source of information, can also contribute to the look of the product or packaging itself. As we know, modern consumers often rely on visual elements when choosing which product to buy. All these things make manufacturers pay serious attention to the choice of labels for their products.
What is the solution when a large amount of information has to be placed but the space is limited? The good news is that labels are evolving like everything else. Modern printing and production technologies allow the creation of different types of labels to facilitate the choice of manufacturers. When there is too much information and too little space, we suggest our customers use two types of labels.
The first type is the so-called "Sandwich" labels ideal for products that need to deliver a significant amount of information within a limited space. They are constructed of two labels with the same format sealed on each other. Both the bottom and top labels can be printed. The label’s layers can be re-sealed to read the information printed between them, but the layers are strongly stuck together on the edge and thus cannot be divided. The layers are firmly connected, nevertheless, they can peel back cleanly and re-seal for repeated uses. Due to the reusable adhesion, the consumer can repeatedly go back to the required information about the product. Sandwich labels are suitable for both flat and curved surfaces.
They are often used for special promotions, detailed instructions or to display legal information or multiple languages.
If you need to print an even larger amount of information, you can use Booklet labels. The Booklet Label is comprised of a booklet or folded pamphlet that is married to a self-adhesive label. So, multiple layers are joined together. These individual layers are not self-adhesive whereby a book effect is created. They offer plenty of space for information and are therefore well suited to, among other things, promotional purposes, product descriptions, or user instructions. They are widely used in the labeling of food, cosmetics, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
